Note:  Please leave the box of recycled programs and the clipboard on the table.  Do not take it to the office.

Duties: 

1.  Try to arrive about 15 minutes before the service. 

2.  Hand out bulletins, the taking faith home flyer.  Some ushers like to tuck the flier into the bulletin ahead of time, some like to give it as a second handout.

3.  Take up offering (collect from the sides first) - count the number of people attending while doing this.

4.  Escort children to the children's church room

5.  Usher for communion.  We start with the band side of the room.  Band will commune, then the side aisles, then front to back.  Communion moves from the side aisles, through the communion line, and up the center to return to seats.  Communion continues on the other side.

6.  Cleanup:  Pew pads must be collected.  The top sheet is torn off.  Place the sheets on the clip board and place it in the bulletin recycling box.  The box remains where it is.  Please do not take it to the office.

7.  If a pastor does not collect the offering, place the money in the blue, zippered satchel and take to the office or hand to a pastor.
